Antique COLONIAL Pattern Oil Lamp-vintage 1911-1920-Dominion Glass Co Limited-Ready to Use

This listing is for an antique oil lamp in the COLONIAL pattern. This pattern is pictured in the book “Oil Lamps-The Kerosene Era in North America” by Catherine M. V. Thuro on page 302, in the middle of the page, left hand picture (c.) According to the book this lamp was made by the Dominion Glass Company Limited of Montreal. The lamp dates from the 1911-1925 and has the inset threaded collar common to that time period.

The burner is old and vintage. It is a size 2 marked “White Flame Light Co Grand Rapids Mich” on the flange. This is a silver-plated over brass burner so it appears silver in color. I also cleaned and polished it for you. The lamp measures about 10″ tall to the top of the base not including the burner and 5 1/4″ wide across the base. The chimney is 8 1/2″ tall. The overall height of the lamp assembled is 19 1/4″ tall.

Condition is good….but there is one panel on the bottom of the lamp that apparently had a minor fight with something and lost. This is on the bottom of the base so it is not noticeable and you can turn it to the wall, but you can see it. I took a magnified close up of the panel where the noticeable chips are located. The whole rim however has some minor roughness, but most of that was probably caused by removal of the lamp from the mold and is not disfiguring or noticeable. Please look at all my pictures and judge for yourself. The burner works and there is a new wick as well that moves up and down easily…..all you need to do is fill it with lamp oil and light it. Great item for when the lights go out at home during a storm…..these make very elegant and special gifts as well. They are also just wonderful to use….romantic and chic! This is a beautiful lamp from the early 1900’s….great piece to add to any collection and ready to use again!
